What is DropIn?

DropIn is an on-chain event toolkit built on Base. It enables verifiable check-ins, transparent giveaways, and proof-of-attendance NFTs for events.

Is DropIn free?

Yes! DropIn is free for organizers. The only fee is $0.50 for attendees who choose to mint an attendance NFT.

What blockchain is DropIn built on?

DropIn is built on Base, Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2 network. Base offers low fees (~$0.01) and fast transactions.

Wallets

What wallets are supported?

Any Web3 wallet that supports Base network:

• Coinbase Wallet (recommended)

• MetaMask

• Rainbow

• Any WalletConnect-compatible wallet

Do I need ETH to check in?

No. Check-ins are gasless - you don't need any ETH to check in.

Do I need ETH to mint an NFT?

Yes. Minting costs $0.50, which includes gas fees. You'll need a small amount of ETH on Base network.

Check-ins

How does the rotating QR prevent fraud?

The QR code regenerates every 30 seconds with a new session token. If someone screenshots and shares it, the code expires before others can use it.

Can I check in without being at the event?

No. The rotating QR code must be scanned live from the venue screen. Screenshots expire within 30 seconds.

Giveaways

How are winners selected?

Winners are selected on-chain using our smart contract. The randomness is verifiable - anyone can audit the draw on BaseScan.

Can I verify giveaway results?

Yes. Every draw produces a transaction hash. Look it up on BaseScan to verify the winner selection.
